Happy Friday!

Welcome or welcome back to my Newsletter! Short and sweet today; Updates on live music, where I’m at with my first single and some on goings in the music industry that you don’t want to miss!

This week I‘ve been busy. In between working at local coffee shop and liquor store, The Thirsty Lab, I’ve been writing songs and producing demos. About three songs this week, along with some other scattered lyrics in my notes app. Every time I write the process is a little different; Something that worked well for me this week was playing to an empty room. I would start on a chord progression I liked and just sing until the words started to make sense. It was a lot of jumbled nonsense, making poor use of beautiful chords. Then when it finally felt right, the song fell into place with ease. A clip of one song I wrote this way is called Whiskey Song.

Enough about me, from Taylor Swift announcing 1989 (Taylor’s Version) to country music taking over the billboard top charts, the music industry is busy as ever. Let’s dig into it:

• Taylor Swift is taking back her Discography one album at a time, and like a boss might I add. After re-releasing Fearless, Red, and Speak Now (to take back her songs from the record label that owns them) she just announced that 1989 with be coming out October 27th. Not sure about you but I can’t wait!

• As for country music taking over the top charts, what can I say except… it’s summer. With Morgan Wallens’ Last Night holding number one and Luke Combs’s cover of Fast Car at number two, it’s safe to say summer is the season of country music.
